Friday, January 15 to Sunday, January 17, 2027. Lamar Retreat Center, Rockport, TX.
Three days away from campus and noise, with the brothers, to begin the semester well. If you are new to SUM, this is the best weekend to come: everyone starts from the same place.
NEW HERE?
- You don’t need to know anyone. The men in the life groups will look out for you.
- You don’t need to know anything about Schoenstatt or be good at praying.
- Not sure it’s for you? Write to Damian Martinez at sumatx@schoenstatt.us and ask.
WHAT “SILENT” MEANS
Silence begins when we arrive at Lamar. It is not an awkward weekend of saying nothing: it is the setting for a retreat built on the Schoenstatt Spiritual Exercises, a guided way of praying with Scripture and your own life, so that you can listen to God and let yourself be found by Him. On Friday night there is an introduction to the Exercises, so no one is lost.
Read more about the Schoenstatt Spiritual Exercises. That page describes the longer Schoenstatt retreat; ours is the same method in a weekend for students.
